Who is Benjamin Bradley?

I am many things to many people. I am a husband, father, uncle, son, brother, grandson, friend, musician, writer, developer, and a teller of truly dumb jokes.

Once upon a time…

I’ve done many things in my life, and here’s a few highlights that people have asked about:

  • Won the 1999 AFA National Collegiate Championship Title (Competitive Speaking)
  • I met my wife, Cara, while attending Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary working on my Masters Degree.
  • I was a paperboy for the Washington Post. (This caused some commotion because of my name Benjamin Bradley… the former editor of the Washington Post).
  • I’ve been developing websites since 1997.
  • Graduated from George Mason University with a degree in Public Relations. (Actually, I had already graduated and finished all my classes when the dean called me into the office and said I had to have a focus with my Communications degree. I previously had been informed that I would be grandfathered in without a need for a specific focus. But, as with all my life, its never that easy. So I had to sit down and go through every single one of GMU’s Communication tracks till I finally found one where I had taken enough credits. So, I left GMU as a Public Relations Major.)
  • I worked as the Associate Pastor and Youth Pastor of a church in Homestead, Florida (south of Miami).
  • I was the International Business Development Director for GarageGames.com and previously their Public Relations Director (My exciting gaming career, more about this to come).
  • For a number of years I worked as the Vice President for Communications and Development for the non-profit group Oakseed Ministries International assisting organizations around the world.
  • NEW: You can most likely find me in two places now:
    • At the Dunn Loring Fire Department – I’m a volunteer with the Fairfax County Fire & Rescue stationed at Dunn Loring.
    • At WebDesign.com teaching people around the world how to harness the power of WordPress.

Little Known Facts about Me…

  • I was born in Karachi, Pakistan. This has caused many issues to pop up during my life. For example: My wife trying to explain to her family that she was dating a Pakistani, or getting drafted into the Pakistani military, refusing to show up, and being black-listed from the country.
  • I was struck by lightning when I was in high school while staying in a cabin on the top of a mountain in upstate New York.
  • I’ve recorded a few musical albums with several groups and I continue to write music even today.
